Thank you for visiting the home of Rose Instruments! Here you will find photos and videos of guitars, banjos, basses, mandolins, ukuleles and more that I've built over the years, especially the cigar box instruments I've turned to as a hobby since retiring some years back. While I continue to make most everything myself, even winding my own pickups by hand, there are still some parts I must purchase: strings, tuners, wood, magnets and copper wire for the pickups etc. Inside you will find some of these cigar box creations for sale, but you may also discover something else, the desire to build your own cigar box instrument. The good news is there are some great online resources available today to help you do just that. While I'm currently working on a links page that will list many of these sites, in the meantime I am always happy to answer questions, point you in the right direction, or otherwise help you get started.
